Infection rates rise again slightly as 117 new COVID-19 cases confirmed

ANOTHER 117 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Warrington, with infection rates rising again slightly over a seven-day period.

The 117 (107) new cases reported by Public Health England, takes the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 29,423 (29,306).



Infection rates in Warrington for the last seven days have risen slightly again to 567 (559) – 270.8 (267) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period but remain below the national average of 332.1 (322.4) per 100,000, which have risen again.

Meanwhile, the UK has recorded 32,417 further COVID-19 cases and 58 deaths within 28 days of a positive test.
There have been 239,342 cases over the past seven days – an increase of almost 31,974, equivalent to 15.4%.
A total of 965 deaths have been recorded over the past week, 38 less than last week, equating to a 3.8% reduction.
A total of 44,739,473 people have now been double vaccinated.
Meanwhile, another 22,540 people received their first vaccine dose, taking the total number of people who have had one jab to 48,722,414.
A further 46,517 people received their second dose, taking the total of fully vaccinated people in the country to 44,739,473.
