LATCHFORD Albion’s three England representatives all played their part when they helped the England Community Lions Under 20’s defeat their Scotland counterparts 48 – 22.
Matthew Ellis started at scrum half, causing the opposition problems with his pinpoint kicking game, as we as some telling passes putting England forwards through gaps in the Scottish defence
Then Matthew Nash transferred his excellent club form to the international scene, making countless line breaks, constantly putting the England side in attacking positions.
Star of the show was Charlie McCurrie. On his England debit, the Albion second rower was unstoppable, and registered four tries, where each one he used his strength to fend off would be defenders.
The three players will next travel to Ireland for a final game on September 25.
Due a fixture build up, and the international call ups, as thing stand, Albion’s next game is scheduled for Friday October 1, and this will be the annual past players game, where any former players are more than welcome to come and meet up with old friends whilst watching the current squad in their title challenge.
