COVID-19 infection rates rise slightly again as 68 new cases confirmed

COVID-19 infection rates in Warrington have risen slightly again with 68 new cases according to the latest data from Public Health England.

The 68 (147) new COVID-19 cases take the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 25,387 (25,319).



Infection rates in Warrington for the last seven days have risen slightly from 649 (645) – 309.9 (308) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period and are above the national average of 293.3 (291.7) per 100,000, which continues to rise.
Meanwhile, the UK has recorded another 29,520 coronavirus cases, according to the latest daily figures.
A further 93 people have died within 28 days of a positive COVID-19 test, taking the total figure to 130,894 since the start of the pandemic.

Current inpatients as of Friday, August 13 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 22 (22) including 5 (5) in ICU.

There are also 5 long-term COVID-related inpatients at the hospital.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 491 (491) 234.5 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 195.2.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 573 (573).
Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths reported on Sunday, August 14 2021 was 61 (93), taking the total number of deaths to 130,953 (130,894).
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 26,750 (29,520), taking the total number to 6,267,437 (6,241,011).
