Police seek Community Speed Watch volunteers at Lymm

0

POLICE are looking at restarting Community Speed Watch schemes in Lymm and are looking for volunteers.

Initially, they are looking to gauge what kind of interest there is from local residents regarding carrying out this speed watch.

Community Speed Watch is carried out by residents with the support of Lymm Police Beat Team.
There would need to be at least three residents carrying this out, therefore they would need to have this many volunteers, able to give up their free time to do this.
There are certain locations where officers carry out speed enforcement and as such they can not use these locations for Community Speed Watch.
These locations are:
Higher Lane
Mill Lane
Birchbrook Road
Booths Hill Road
Burford Lane
Church Road
Rushgreen Road
Warrington Road
Whitbarrow Road
If you are interested in volunteering your time to carry out Community Speed Watch at a road in Lymm please email [email protected]
Yesterday PCSO Redshaw was carrying out speed enforcement on Whitbarrow Road due to community concerns. There were 12 activations with a top speed of 41mph in a 20mph zone!
