One more COVID-19 related death and 94 new cases as infection rates continue to fall

ONE more COVID-19 related death has sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital, while 94 new cases have been confirmed in the latest data from Public Health England as infection rates continue to fall over a seven-day period.

Another four inpatients have been discharged from Warrington & Halton Hospitals since yesterday, while inpatient numbers are down slightly to 22, with four still in intensive care.



The 94 (115) new COVID-19 cases reported takes the total number of confirmed cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 23,821 (23,727).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days have fallen again to 829 (901) – 394.7 (429) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period– but still above the national average of 333.1 (353.5) per 100,000, which has also fallen.

Meanwhile, the UK has reported 29,622 new COVID-19 cases and 68 deaths in the latest 24-hour period.
The seven-day average for infections is 36.1% down from the previous week, while fatalities are up by 25.1%.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 486 (486) 231.4 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 194.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 570 (570).
