COVID-19 infection rates continue to fall in Warrington as 97 new cases confirmed

COVID-19 infection rates have fallen for a sixth consecutive day, with no further deaths reported at Warrington & Halton Hospitals and inpatient numbers remaining the same.

Another four inpatients have been discharged from Warrington & Halton Hospitals since yesterday, while inpatient numbers remain at 26, with five in intensive care.



The 97 (85) new COVID-19 cases reported takes the total number of confirmed cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 23,612 (23,515).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days have fallen again to 975 (1,086) – 464.3 (517.1) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period– but still well above the national average of 376.5 (417) per 100,000, which have also fallen.
Meanwhile the The number of new COVID-19 cases recorded in the UK has risen after seven consecutive days of falls.
The UK has reported 27,734 new infections and 91 more coronavirus-related deaths in the latest 24-hour period.
The figures compare with 23,511 cases and 131 deaths announced yesterday, while 44,104 cases and 73 deaths were recorded this time last week.
