LESS than 24 hours after he scored a hat-trick in the win over Wigan, Warrington have announced that Jake Mamo will be leaving the club.

Mamo, 27, is joining Castleford at the expiration of his Wolves contract at the end of the season on a three-year deal.

He said: “Although I’m looking forward to the opportunity next season it will be a bittersweet feeling to leave Warrington behind.

“I’ve made friends for life here and have built some great relationships with people at the Club over the last three years.

“Since becoming a starter in the team over the last few months I’ve really seen my relationship with the fans grow. I feel their support and I’m loving playing every game in front of them, so it will be sad to say goodbye to them at the end of the year.

“We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves but at the moment we’re playing well, the team’s gelling and it’d mean everything to go out on a high with my mates here. That’s the ultimate aim but in saying that we’ll remain humble and keep working hard each week.”

Warrington have previously announced that Castleford duo Peter Mata’utia and Oliver Holmes will be following coach Daryl Powell to the Halliwell Jones Stadium for the 2022 season.

Mamo scored a hat-trick of tries as Warrington beat Wigan 40-14 at the DW Stadium on Wednesday night, and has a developing cult hero status for his post-match interviews live on Sky Sports.
