Haircut sir? Turkish barber shop to open on retail park

PLANNING chiefs have given the go-ahead for a Turkish barber shop on the Junction Nine Retail Park, off Winwick Road, Warrington.
The scheme will involve the construction of a small, flat-roofed modular kiosk on a grassed area at the southern entrance to the retail park, off Hawleys Lane, close to the car park.

Planners consulted seven neighbours but there were no objections.
A Warrington Borough Council planning officer’s report on the application for a Turkish Barber Shop, said the proposed building, although in an isolated position at the access to the retail park, would be of an appropriate design. It was surrounded by commercial buildings and no residential properties would be impacted, the nearest being 130m away.
The Turkish Barber shop development would not result in any loss of parking space and was unlikely to create any additional parking pressure.
“The proposal will result in an acceptable provision of a small business on an existing larger commercial site, which will offer enhancement to the area through use of materials and landscaping, to the benefit of the existing street scene and without harm to the nearest affected occupiers,” the officer added.
