Firefighters called out to tackle car fire on M6

FIREFIGHTERS were called out following reports of a car on fire on the M6 at Warrington.

The vehicle was located near the southbound exit slip road between junction 21 (Woolston) and junction 20 (Lymm).



A hose reel jet and a hose reel were used to put out the flames and a thermal imaging camera monitored the temperature.
The fire is believed to have been caused by the engine overheating.
