Disused Warrington pub to be converted into apartments

PLANS have been approved for the conversion of a disused Warrington pub into nine one-bedroomed apartments.

The former Bells pub, in Longshaw Street, will be extended into the roof space to enable the development to go ahead.

Dormers would be created in a new pitched roof and residents’ parking would be provided
Planning chiefs gave the go-ahead for the scheme despite an objection from a nearby residents who, while accepting that the area needed regeneration, believed the proposed development would result in too many residents – and too many cars – being introduced into the area.
They argued that a smaller number of two-bedroomed apartments or, even better, four two-bedroomed houses providing family homes, would be preferable.
