Another 63 new COVID-19 cases confirmed as downward trend shows signs of slowing

ANOTHER 63 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Warrington since yesterday and while the downward trend is continuing, it is showing signs of slowing and remains above the national average.

The 63 (53) new cases in the latest daily update from Public Health England means the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington since the start of the pandemic is now 16,466 (16,403).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days, previous days/updates in brackets, are 491 (492) – 233.8 (234.3) per 100,000 population, continuing a slight downward trend over a seven-day period. This compares to the national rate of 167.6 per 100,000.

*The highest number COVID-19 positive inpatients during the first wave was on 12th April with 124 patients of which 18 were in ICU.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 449 (445) 213.8 per 100,000 population.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England is 480 (480).
