Warrington Wolves free up overseas quota by releasing Tongan Prop Leilani Latu

WARRINGTON Wolves have released Tongan international Leilani Latu from the remainder of his contract by mutual agreement with immediate effect.

Tongan international Latu signed on a two-year deal in January 2020 from Australian side Gold Coast Titans, having made 58 appearances in the NRL.
He arrived with big expectations after starring with Penrith Panthers, before a big-money move to Gold Coast in 2018.
But concerns regarding his fitness emerged as he failed to make an appearance in the opening months of the season and only made three appearances in the primrose and blue.
He also spent time at Widnes Vikings on loan.
His departure will free up a quota spot with the club which has recruited two highly-regarded English props in Rob Mulhern and Rob Butler from Hull KR and London Broncos respectively.
The Club would like to thank the prop forward for his efforts and wish him well for the future.
