Six more COVID-19 deaths as hospital inpatient numbers reach record high while new cases continue downward trend

SIX COVID-19 patients have sadly died at Warrington hospital since Friday, while inpatient numbers have reached a new record high, although new cases are continuing a downward trend for a fifth consecutive day.

Hospital inpatient numbers have now reached a new high of 225 (the highest during the first wave was 124) while 29 are in intensive care, another new high.
But new cases are continuing a downward trend while 28 patients were discharged over the weekend.
A total of 171 (120) new COVID-19 cases were reported by Public Health England today, Monday, taking the total reported in Warrington, since the start of the pandemic, to 14,084 (13,913).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days, previous days/updates in brackets, are 1,345 (1,410) – 640.4 (671.4) per 100,000 population – showing a downward trend for a fifth consecutive day and the sixth time since the start of lockdown.
