COVID-19 infection rates continue to rise as town prepares to enter Tier 3 restrictions

COVID-19 infection rates have continued to rise in Warrington for 14 consecutive days according to the latest data from Public Health England, with the town entering Tier three restrictions tomorrow, Boxing Day.

One more COVID-19 death has been sadly reported at Warrington Hospital since yesterday while 61 new cases have been confirmed in the town in the latest daily update by Public Health England.
The 61 (126) new cases in Warrington in the latest figures from Public Health England takes the total since the start of the pandemic to 9,627 (9,566).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days, previous days/updates in brackets, are 552 (530) – 262.8 (252.4) per 100,000 population – showing an upward trend in infection rates over a seven day period for a 14th consecutive days.
*According to figures published to NHS England today (Dec 25) at least one more patient has died at Warrington Hospital taking the death toll to 302.

The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England is 350 (350).
