Firefighters tackle two more fires in the open

WARRINGTON firefighters were called out to deal with two more fires in the open today, following on from four incidents at the weekend.

At 13:45 One fire engine from Warrington attended reports of a fire in the open off Old Liverpool Road.
On arrival the crew found a fire involving loose wood.
A water backpack was used to extinguish the flames.
Earlier in the day at 12:03 One fire engine from Warrington attended reports of a small fire on Old Alder Lane.
On arrival the crew found a small quantity of rubbish well alight.
One hose reel jet was used to extinguish the flames.
