Wolves confirm Luther Burrell exit

WARRINGTON Wolves have released former England rugby union centre Luther Burrell.

Burrell, 32, made just eight appearances for the Wolves since arriving from Northampton Saints midway through 2019, and hasn’t featured at all since the Super League restart.

He was the subject of an article in the Mail on Sunday, where he expressed his frustration at a lack of opportunities, despite what he says his best efforts and more in training.

A short club statement said: “The club would like to thank Luther for his efforts and wish him all the best for the future.”

Huddersfield-born Burrell is now looking for a return to rugby union. He earned 15-caps for England in the 15-man code, and also played domestically for Sale Sharks and Leeds Carnegie.
