POPULAR Stockton Heath French Restaurant Bistrot Pierre has closed down due to the “significant impact of COVID-19” after being bought as part of a pre-pack administration deal in July.

While it had been announced that six of Bistrot Pierre’s 25 restaurants were to close as part of the deal, the Stockton Heath restaurant had been expected to be saved from closure.
But last night regulars received an email announcing the closure.
The email read: “It’s with an extremely heavy heart that we’re writing to you to inform you about the permanent closure of our Bistrot in Stockton Heath. Unfortunately, due to the significant impact of Covid-19 across the whole industry and our business, we have had to make the very difficult decision to close our Stockton Heath Bistrot.
“Bistrot Pierre Stockton Heath holds very special memories for us as we hope it does for you, it’s been an honour being able to help you celebrate your birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and much more with you over the past 10 years.
“We have 19 unique Bistrots across the UK and in Wales, all with the same, French inspired food freshly prepared by our Chefs every day and of course, friendly service with a smile. Your closest Bistrot is Altrincham and our team are looking forward to welcoming you soon.”

In July it was announced that the French restaurant Bistrot Pierre had been sold in a pre-pack administration saving 682 jobs with the closure of six of its restaurants, with a total of 123 redundancies.
Bistrot Pierre celebrated its 25th birthday last year having been founded by school friends Rob Beacham and Rob Whitehead.
The pair opened their first restaurant, Pierre Victoire, together in Nottingham in 1994, which was later rebranded as Bistrot Pierre in 2005.
The Stockton Heath branch had been open for 10 years.
