No new COVID-19 cases in Warrington for second consecutive day

THERE have been no new COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington for a second consecutive day according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

A total of 1,342 people have tested positive in the Warrington area which equates to 640.4 per 100,000 population.
There have been no COVID-19 related deaths at the hospital for three weeks and the hospital is now currently caring for just one COVID-19 patient.
Meanwhile a total of 136 patients who tested positive for COVID-19 have sadly died at Warrington Hospital, along with 231 people in local care homes, two patients at a hospice and three people at home, taking the town’s death toll to at least 370.

Warrington Hospital’s Covid-19 update for week ending Thursday 30th July (previous week in brackets)
·To date the hospital tested 13,195 (12,165) inpatients/community of which 1,193 (1,192) have tested positive.
·They are currently caring for 1 (1 ) in-patient who has tested positive for Covid-19, there are NO Covid-19 positive patients in ICU (0)
·They have discharged 384 (382) patients and sadly 136 (136) have died – this continues to be the lowest Covid-related in-patient mortality rate for all acute hospitals in the north west
·Daily average patients through A&E is 218 (216) and for Runcorn Urgent Care Centre is 58 (52)
·56 Babies born this week (inc. home and hospital) compared with (49) in the same week last year.

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths was 38, taking the total number of deaths to 45,999.
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 846 taking the total number to 302,301.
