WARRINGTON North MP Charlotte Nichols visited Woolston-based FLEX-masks to find out more about their new reusable face masks.

From today face coverings are now mandatory in shops, supermarkets, shopping centres and enclosed transport hubs.
Ahead of today’s change in the law, Charlotte paid a visit to Woolston-based business FLEX-masks to hear about their work producing reusable face masks.
A display company by trade for the past 17 years specialising in digitally printed fabric displays (FLEX-display UK Ltd), as a result of the Covid-19 crisis the family-run business has worked tirelessly to create a new product – printed face masks – which are sold under the FLEX-masks name.

During the visit Charlotte met FLEX-masks directors Pete and Vikki who gave her a tour of the business and showed her the reusable fabric masks they sell, which are treated with an anti-viral and anti-bacterial agent and are available in a range of printed designs.
Charlotte said:“It was great to meet Pete and Vikki. Like so many businesses, they have had to adapt to new ways of working and in their case they have produced a new product entirely.
“I was impressed with the mask design – I certainly haven’t seen anything else like this before. The fabric has been treated with an anti-viral and anti-bacterial agent and, crucially, it is also very comfortable, washable, re-usable and lightweight – it is Lycra fabric. The masks are available in a range of printed designs.
“Alongside talking about the challenges their business has faced over the years, we also discussed the potential environmental benefits of reusable masks, particularly if these regulations stay in place for some time, as I have noticed that disposable masks are increasingly being littered locally.
“The FLEX-masks product sounds like a really great idea and I wish them every future success with their business – if you would like to learn more about them, visit www.printedfacemask.co.uk
