Police increase patrols at Latchford to reassure residents following serious assault

EXTRA police officers were on patrol around Latchford on Wednesday evening to help reassure residents following an alleged stabbing on Loushers Lane on Tuesday afternoon.

Numerous patrol vehicles could be seen in the area following the incident which left a 22-year-old man in hospital with serious injuries following the incident outside the Emerland takeaway.
Reports locally suggested the victim had been stabbed during a fight involving numerous men.
The 22-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment where his condition was described as stable.

Meanwhile a 19-year-old man and a 37-year-old man, both from Warrington, were arrested on suspicion of a section 18 assault and taken to custody for questioning.
