Local fishery is casting again following easing of Covid-19 restrictions

LOCAL fishery Partridge Lakes near Culcheth is casting again following the easing of Covid-19 restrictions making it possible for local anglers to ‘strike’ out once more.

Set over 70 acres with 394 pegs across 15 lakes, Partridge Lakes Fishery is a Warrington gem treasured by many enthusiastic anglers across the North West. As eager as they were to kick-start the local fishing economy, the fishery faced some critical issues.
With social distancing set to be part of all our lives for some time, the only logical way to reopen was to implement an online booking system. With just 24 hours to design, test and implement an online booking system, Warrington marketing agency Morgan Branding took the bait.
They delivered too. Instead of implementing a generic booking system that would potentially require countless customisations and ultimately pass on the cost to customers, they chose to create a bespoke system.
The result – fishing at a safe social distance from day one of opening.
Director of Morgan Branding Callum Morgan stressed: “The last seven weeks have been nothing short of painful for businesses up and down the country. I’m thrilled that we were able to help Partridge Lakes to restart their business on the first day of trading. It hasn’t helped the pain of a seven-week shutdown. However, it’s allowed the survival of a local business and the retention of many jobs.’
Twelve of the fishery staff are now back in employment, no longer on government furlough.

Sticklers for detail, Morgan Branding felt it necessary to adapt the original website design to incorporate this new online booking tool. It looks great, and because it’s bespoke, the company are not at the mercy of hidden costs. It’s quick, easy and even enables customers to book ‘live’ bait for the day. Whether its maggots, casters, worms, pellets or sweetcorn! – customers have the option to pre-book the lot. With an organised system for bait collection, Partridge Lakes can serve up to 150 cars within 25 minutes. No mile-long queues within sight.
Barbara Ikin, Fishery Manager at Partridge Lakes Fisheries, has been delighted with the response to the new booking system.
“We’ve worked with Morgan Branding for some years now. We knew as soon as the government made their conditional announcement, that whatever we needed, Morgan Branding could deliver. Not only is the team easy to work with, but they’re efficient, and they pride themselves in providing workable solutions. Although this booking system has been implemented to meet social distancing measures, we’ve found it’s created efficiencies across the business and given us the foundations to build up our online presence and enter the world of delivering tackle & bait to the anglers front door!”
To trial this new booking system, day tickets are available for anglers to book from Partridge Lakes Fishery website https://www.partridgelakes.co.uk/lake-availability/
