WARRINGTON Wolves have handed full-time contracts to academy pair Josh Thewlis and Ellis Longstaff.

Thewlis, 17, made his Super League debut against Catalans back in June and is now committed until the club until November 2022, along with Longstaff.

Also 17, Longstaff’s performances for the academy have earned him promotion to the first team training squad.

Paul Anderson, Warrington’s academy head coach, said: “As a club, we are extremely excited that two more players have graduated from our academy system, as we aim to keep producing our own players of a high standard with the belief that we can make Warrington Wolves a continued threat at the top of Super League.

“Both Ellis and Josh are hardworking and humble people, and fully deserving of these contracts. They are not only a reflection of what they do on the field but also of the continued hard work they do of it.”
