WARRINGTON Wolves have announced that Tongan prop Sitaleki Akauola has signed a new two-year deal.

Akauola, 27, has made 38 appearances in the primrose and blue since making his debut in February 2018.

He said: “I am very grateful for the opportunity that Warrington have given me to experience playing a sport I love, in a place I never thought I’d get to see (UK).

“Since I first started here everyone has made me feel so welcome. I call Warrington my English home. From the town, to the squad and our supporters who we embrace, it is really good to be a part of.

“We have a number of ‘old’ heads in the group with a lot of experience, always sharing their wisdom among the playing group as well as some exciting youngsters always willing to learn and take things on board. It’s a pleasure to work with everyone here.

“I know with the group of boys we have here, we can make and earn something special, not only for us but for our families and friends, past and present, and for everyone who has put blood, sweat and tears into the primrose and blue jersey.

“One of the many reasons why I extended my contract was to hopefully help create something special and give back to those who come to support me and the boys week in week out.”
