WARRINGTON Wolves have confirmed that half-back Kevin Brown has joined Leigh on loan until the end of the season.

Brown, 34, is out of contract at the end of the year and hasn’t featured for the Wolves all season after suffering an Achilles injury in pre-season training.

He joined ahead of the 2017 season from Widnes for an undisclosed fee, and appeared in the Grand Final and Challenge Cup final last season.

Chief executive Karl Fitzpatrick said: “We would like to thank Kev for his services to the club both on and off the field during his time with us, and for his recent professionalism while out through long-term injury.

“During his time on the sidelines he has continued to be an important part of our squad, supporting the playing group with his vast playing experience within the game. We all wish him well.”

Brown is believed to have been moved on to accommodate recent signing Matty Smith on the salary cap.

He previously played for Wigan and Huddersfield, and made 55 appearances for Warrington.
