Objections to “affordable” homes plan

A PLAN for eight “affordable” apartments comes before Warrington planning chiefs tomorrow (Wednesday) – together with a number of objections.
The proposed development off Chester Road, Stockton Heath, involves converting two existing semi-detached houses into four apartments and building a new block of four apartments.
It is being put forward by Warrington Housing Association…
A number of existing outbuildings at the rear of the site would be demolished.
Stockton Heath Parish Council is concerned about the number of parking spaces proposed and believes there could be noise and other problems for existing neighbouring residents.
Five neighbours have lodged objections saying the new building will be out of keeping with the area, overlook neighbouring gardens.
There are also concerns over parking, noise and smells from the number of bins – 24 if all apartments have three each.
But planning officers say the scheme will offer much needed affordable housing in a sustainable location without any long term impact on existing properties.
