Warrington’s London Marathon heroes

FOUR members of Warrington Athletic Club took part in the London Marathon  and one took part in the Mini Marathon for young athletes.
In the Marathon, Lymm resident Steve Watmough won the V55 age group and finished in 461st place overall with a fantastic new personal best time of two hours 40 minutes 39 seconds. 
Dave Norman finished in 2742nd place in a time of three hours 04 minutes 46 seconds placing him 49th in the same V55 group.
Louise Blizzard  (right) completed her 25th London Marathon finishing 4592nd overall with a time of three hours 19 minutes 09 seconds placing her 586th woman and 111th in the over 40 age group for women.
Emma Pryor made her debut at the distance finishing in 13679th place overall, 3618th woman and 1905th over 35 woman with a time of three hours 57 minutes 02 seconds.
In the Mini Marathon for young athletes, over a three-mile course, which incorporated the British Road Race Championships, Joe Buckley from Great Sankey finished in 17th place in the under 17 men’s race  with a time of 14 minutes 53 seconds and was the second counter for the North West team which took the Bronze Medals in the team event with 71 points behind South East on 16 points and London on 69 points.
