84-year-old van driver killed in road traffic collision at Culcheth

AN 84-year-old local man was tragically killed in a road traffic collision at Culcheth, yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon.

The incident took place on Common Lane at the junction of The Limes, shortly before 4pm

Multiple emergency vehicles and the air ambulance attended at the scene which involved two vans and a Honda car.

A police spokesperson said: “Sadly the driver of one of the van’s, an 84-year-old local man, died at the scene. His next of kin has been informed and the family are being provided support by specialist officers.

“There are believed to be no other injuries.”

The road was reopened at 7.30pm.
