Road closed following serious road traffic collision at Culcheth

A serious road traffic collision has resulted in a road closure at Culcheth, Warrington and police are advising motorists to avoid the area.

The incident took place on Common Lane at the junction of The Limes, which was closed while officers deal with the road traffic collision.

Hob Hey Lane and Twiss Green Lane near to Common Lane were also affected.

Multiple emergency vehicles and the air ambulance attended at the scene.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “At 3.58pm on Wednesday 3 April police were called to a road traffic collision on Common Lane in Culcheth and Glazebury involving two vans and a Honda car. A road closure has been put in place on Common Lane at the junction with Twiss Green Lane and Hob Hey Lane. Ambulance and air ambulance are at the scene.”

Firefighters used cutting equipment to make one of the vehicles safe.

The road eventually re-opened at 7.30pm.
