Places still available for Whitley 10k

ARRANGEMENTS for this year’s Whitley 10k on Sunday, April 14 are entering the final lap.
The race, which has the benefit of road closures throughout, passes through some stunning scenery in and around Whitley, near Warrington.
Places are still available online through Run Britain and Eventbrite as well as through the Whitley Village Hall website.
Race director Peter Clayton is as upbeat as ever but recognised it had been a challenging year in terms of entries.
He reflected on the constraints that the new data regulations had meant.
“Sadly we were unable to email runners directly as historic databases did not have the relevant permissions. Needless to say some good work with running clubs, social media and the local print media has really helped publicise the event” he said
“While not a sell out I am still expecting over 300 runners to be taking part.
“The diversity of runners is what makes this such a family friendly event with all age groups taking part in the 5k and the 10k limited to 15 and over due to UK Athletics rules.”
Main sponsors are Lakeland Trucks Ltd and Schmitz CARGOBULL and all money will go into supporting the upkeep of Whitley Village Hall and local groups and activities.
