Youths robbed in busy town centre street

FOUR youths were robbed in a busy town centre street at Warriington.
Police today appealed for witnesses of the incident in Horsemarket Street on Sunday afternoon.
At 3.46pm on Sunday 24 March the four youths were walking on Horsemarket Street when they were approached by three men.
Police said it was believed the youths were threatened and during the incident, a bag was stolen from one of the youths.
The bag was thrown into the beer garden at the Hop Pole public house and was later recovered by the victim.
Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and as part of the investigation officers are trying to trace the victims in the case and anyone who witnessed the incident.
Detective Constable Danielle Fildes said: “Enquiries are currently in the very early stages and we are keen to hear from anyone with any information, no matter how small, which may help our investigation.
“This incident has taken place on a busy town centre street and I believe there would have been a large number of people who witnessed what happened and may be able to help with our enquiries.
“I’m also looking to trace the victims in the case who have yet to come forward.

Two 16-year-old boys and a 20-year-old man have been arrested in connection with the incident. They have all been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
