Armed robbery at Birchwood newsagents

POLICE at Warrington are appealing for information after an armed robbery took place at a newsagents at Birchwood.
A man walked into McColl’s on Admirals Road around 10.35pm on Friday night, armed with a firearm.
He pointed the weapon at staff inside and made threats while demanding they open the till.
He then filled a black bin bag with the contents of the till and left the shop.
Police say the man was around 5ft 8 tall and of a medium build. He was wearing a dark jacket with the hood up and gloves.
Detective Sergeant Darren Reid, of Warrington CID, said: “We’re really keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time or anyone who may have information which could help with our investigation.
“Please come forward by calling us on 101.”
