WARRINGTON Wolves made it three wins from three to start the new Super League season as they saw off Huddersfield Giants 32-20.

After wins over Leeds and Hull KR, Steve Price’s side recorded another comfortable victory here, albeit the Giants scored a few late tries to make the scoreline more respectively.

The Wolves led through Ryan Atkins’ early try, pouncing on a mistake by Akuila Uate, who fumbled Blake Austin’s kick.

Josh Charnley’s try in the corner was followed by a penalty by Stefan Ratchford and the Wolves were 12-0 up on 21 minutes.

Charnley got his second but Huddersfield would finally get on the board on the stroke of half time through the returning Jermaine McGillvary, to reduce arrears to 16-4.

They were back within one score seven minutes in to the second half when Lee Gaskell converted Matty English’s score.

But Adam Walne was then sinbinned for a bad tackle on Chris Hill, and while they were down to 12 men, the Wolves got back control of proceedings.

Ryan Atkins crossed for the Wolves’ fourth try and then barely seconds after Walne had returned to action, Austin weaved his way through for a try.

Big Ben Murdoch-Masila made the game safe 15 minutes from time, with the Wolves up 32-10.

Late tries for Jordan Turner and Uate were mere consolation for Huddersfield, who remain winless.
