Jen celebrates making Power List of 100 Women leading the Food & Drink Industry

LOCAL businesswoman Jen Perry is the town’s only woman to have been included in Great Taste’s Power List of 100 Women leading the Food & Drink Industry.

The accolade came at the same time as her business, Room Forty, an award winning mobile Afternoon Tea Emporium and Baking School, celebrated its second birthday.

A celebratory birthday event was held at Warrington’s premier kitchen showroom, JD Kitchens with a morning of baking demonstrations by Jen and the Room Forty team. The event was fittingly held on National Tea Day.

Room Forty gave demonstrations making pikelets and baking bread, scones, madeleines and a Victoria Sponge using the same Neff ‘Hide & Slide’ ovens as they have on Great British Bake Off. Guests were treated to samples and tea and invited to donate a contribution to the Red Cross who had chosen National Tea Day for their ‘Pour a Cup of Kindness’ fundraising day.

Jen said: “I’m flattered and frankly overwhelmed to have made it onto this list. For the accolade to have come on Room Forty’s second birthday is the cherry on top of the cake for me, if you’ll excuse the terrible baking pun!

“Room Forty allows me the honour of playing a part in other people’s special day be it an Anniversary, Birthday, Wedding, workplace reward to thank staff for hard work or whatever. It’s a lovely privilege.

“I’m proud to say that the business is going from strength to strength. We are very busy with our Afternoon Tea’s and vintage china hire and struggling to keep up with demand for our baking classes. We’ve just run our 20th baking class so have now taught over 100 people. Look out for our new baking classes including classes at JD Kitchens which we’ll be announcing very soon and book early!
