Punk rock legends set to play Parr Hall

Unleash your inner punk rocker and head to Parr Hall this summer to relive the magic of a great British band.

Get set for a fantastic night of live music as punk rock legends The Damned head to Warrington for one night only.

Formed in 1976, The Damned shot to fame right from their first gig, which was supporting The Sex Pistols at London’s famous 100 Club.

Renowned for being one of the first gothic rock bands on the scene, The Damned soon became a major influence on goth subculture, largely thanks to lead singer Dave Vanian’s vampiresque attire, as well as the band’s characteristic dark lyrics.

Thanks to their fast-paced and energetic style, The Damned also became a heavy influence on future hardcore punk bands, and alongside the Sex Pistols and the Clash, they helped to spearhead the UK’s punk movement.

However, the band also enjoyed exposure to a whole new audience when Guns N’ Roses recorded New Rose for their The Spaghetti Incident? Album in 1993, while The Offspring covered Smash it Up for the Batman Forever soundtrack in 1995.

Performing their greatest hits from albums including Machine Gun EtiquettePhantasmagoria,Strawberries, and Anything, this latest show is set to revive the very best music from this iconic era.

The Damned will be performing live at Parr Hall on Friday August 24 2018 at 7.30pm.

Tickets are on sale now at www.pyramidparrhall.com or by calling Box Office on 01925 442345.
