WARRINGTON’S annual Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving to mark Anzac Day takes place on Sunday, April 23.

Starting at 12.15 pm the Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving takes place at Soldier’s Corner, Warrington Cemetery, Manchester Road.

The service will be led by The Rector of Warrington, Canon Paul Wilson. The Mayor, Cllr Faisal Rashid, will lay a wreath on behalf of the citizens of Warrington.

Anzac stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The annual service commemorates the anniversary of Australian and New Zealand forces landing at Gallipoli during World War One, in 1915 where thousands of soldiers died.
