THE new Chairman of the Warrington Club – the town’s oldest networking organisation, is local accountant Tony Lennon.
Tony, managing partner at Rigby Lennon & Co. takes over from retiring Chairman Percy Peckley at the Warrington Club based in Bold Street, Warrington.
Tony has been Honorary treasurer of the club, which was formed by the “Warrington Worthies” in 1876, including leading industrialists Arthur Bennett, Jon Crosfield, Sir Gilbert Greenall and George Rylands, for the past decade.
The Warrington Club is one of the few remaining traditional establishments founded for the sole purpose of providing a venue where members could meet on a regular basis in comfortable surroundings to enjoy each others company and meaningful conversation.
In his leisure time Tony lists his interests as rugby, swimming and history – classical Napoleonic, History of Warfare.
The club is currently on a recruitment drive and is hosting a free snooker evening on Monday April 24th at 6.30pm and a buffet lunch on Saturday May 20 at 12 noon for anyone interested in finding out more about the organisation.
