New forum will give people chance to debate Warrington

A new forum is being launched next month giving people the chance to debate hot topics in Warrington.

The Warrington Forum will be a discussion group where all those interested in politics and philosophy can gather to discuss their views.

The idea is to hold regular meetings, each around a different topic chosen by the members at the previous meeting.

Warrington Forum is not affiliated with any particular political organisation and hopes to attract members of all parties and none.

The group has been set up by Warrington resident John Shipley who also ran debates for the last two local elections, chaired by warrington-worldwide Editor Gary Skentelbery. Whilst similar groups exist elsewhere such as the Manchester Debating Group, this is believed to be a first for Warrington.

The first meeting will be held on March 14 at the Ring O Bells on Church Street from from 7pm.

More information can be found on the group’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/warringtonforum) or by contacting John Shipley at [email protected] or on 07594521972.
