Discarded cigarette starts bin fire

A discarded cigarette is believed to have started a bin fire at Warrington last night.

Two fire crews from Warrington and Stockton Heath attended the fire on Westy Lane, Warrington.

The fire broke out in a bin under a canopy outside a building. Although the building was not affected  firefighters did use a thermal imaging camera to check for any remaining hot spots of fire.

The fire service is warning people to take care when smoking as discarded cigarettes can cause fires.
