MISS FRODSHAM – 26-year-old Laura Wenton – is the new Miss English Rose.
She won the title in competition with more than 50 other hopefuls in the finals at the Vincent Hotel in Southport.
Actress, singer and dancer Laura will now fly to the world finals of Swimsuit USA in the Dominican Republic at the end of the month.
But she will be back in time to star in panto when she appears as the princess in Jack and the Beanstalk at Lytham this Christmas.
Laura also won a modelling contract, a £500 designer dress and a £1,000 portfolio and website.
Modelling, beauty competitions and show business run in Laura’s family.
Her dad is Bernie Wenton, winner of talent show Stars in your Eyes, Her mum, Tricia Liedl, was a Miss English Rose entrant in the 1980s and has also won Miss Lovely Legs of Great Britain, Coal Queen of Great Britain and Miss Pontins twice! She is now married to entertainer Bob Carolgees, famous for his comedy pet, Spit the Dog.
Last year, Laura appeared in Aladdin at The Brindley in Runcorn.
