WARRINGTON Wolves centre Ryan Atkins has been named First Utility Super League Player of the Month for July.

Atkins beat off competition from Jacob Miller (Wakefield), James Roby (St Helens), George Williams (Wigan) and last month’s winner Marc Sneyd (Hull.

He said: “Everyone in the team has been on top form in what has been a crucial month in the season. It’s great to pick up this award, not just for myself, but as recognition to the whole team.

“We’ve had some great wins in July and we’re feeling ready for the Super 8’s. I’d like to say thank you to The Wire supporters who voted for me.”

He was presented with the award by Wolves supporter Jason Beswick.

Jason said: “It was fantastic to be able to present Ryan with July’s First Utility Super League Player of the Month award.

“He deserves the award after his quality performances throughout July.

“Thanks to First Utility for inviting me down to present the award, and hopefully we’ll see the award return to Warrington Wolves again this season!”
