GRAPPENHALL St Wilfrid’s Annual Walking Day & Summer Fair will be held on Saturday June 25.

Bigger and better than ever, the day will start at 12.45pm with celebratory community worship led by the Rector of St Wilfrid’s Church, Rev’d Jane Proudfoot, on St Wilfrid’s School field.

The crowd will then begin their annual Walk of Witness around Grappenhall Village, led by Dobcross Youth Band.

Grappenhall Walking Day, a tradition which goes back almost 180 years, holds many fond memories for residents of the area.

Rev’d Jane said: “It witnesses to our Christian faith, our unity, and our determination to come together as a community and enjoy ourselves.

“This year we’re involving as many different organisations and groups in Grappenhall as possible. Come one, come all!”

A fun day for all the family

Back at the field the new Rose Queen Gabrielle Groves and Rose Bud Natalie Finegan will be crowned and the Summer Fair will be opened. Come and enjoy the fun with live entertainment, Great Grappenhall Bake Off, tasty BBQ & refreshments plus a selection of stalls.

Come and be a part of this local tradition we’d love to see you there!
