VETERANS, cadets and residents will be joining together on Sunday for Warrington’s annual Anzac Day service.
The Mayor Cllr Geoff Settle, will attend the service which will begin with a wreath laying at Soldier’s Corner, Warrington Cemetery at 12.15pm.
Members of the public attending are requested to assemble by 12 noon. The event is expected to last about 20 minutes and will conclude with a march past.
Anzac stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps and the annual service commemorates the anniversary of Australian and New Zealand forces landing at Gallipoli in 1915, during World War One, and the thousands who gave their lives.
