POLICE are investigating following an arson attack which damaged a car at Warrington early today.
The blaze involved a car in Salisbury Street and was out by the time a fire engine reached the scene. But the crew thoroughly checked the vehicle, using a thermal imaging camera, to make sure there were no areas of heat which could cause it to flare up again.
The incident was at 1.47am
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police on 101 or the Crimestoppers anonymous hotline on 0800 555 111.
Earlier, firefighters were called out to what was thought to be a vehicle on fire on the M6 motorway, between junctions 21 and 21a.
But it turned out to be uncontrolled burning on open land next to the motorway. A hose reel jet was used to bring the fire under control.
