ENTRIES have opened for a 40-mile circular race, mostly off-road, which circumnavigates Warrington.
The Warrington Way Ultra will take place on Saturday, November 12, organised by Lymm Runners and starting and finishing in Lymm.
It follows on from the success of last year’s inaugural race
The multi-terrain race is mostly through attractive countryside but also takes in some of the area’s industrial and transport heritage.
It will be the final race in the National RunFurther ultramarathon championship series.
Race director Kieran Walshe said: “Lymm Runners have run many of the races in this year’s series and, as the last race in the 2016 series, the whole championship could turn on the results of the Warrington Way.
“As we want a wider range of runners to enjoy the scenery and the buzz, the race is not just open to solo runners doing the whole distance; pairs doing 20 miles and four person relay teams of 10 miles are also welcome.”
Cost of entries is £25 for solo runners, £40 for pairs and £60 for relay teams (plus a UKA £2 supplement for unaffiliated runners). There are 200 places in total.
Those who finish will get a goody bag with the coveted Warrington Way technical t-shirt and medal.
Drinks and food will be provided at three checkpoints (10 miles, 20 miles and 30 miles); hot and cold drinks and a hot meal will provided at the finish.
