LYMM’S RAF Air Cadets are flying high  – with new, improved facilities at Park Road, Broomedge.
Flying Officer Andy Smith has taken command of 2137 (Lymm) Squadron at this exciting time.
He said “the MoD has spent in excess of £300,000 on these facilities which include a brand new building, furniture, car parking, drill square and access road.
“The work to replace the old facilities has taken place as promptly as possible and the neighbours have been very patient and welcoming of the improvements.
“The final major work to be completed was the new access road to the site. This meant that cadets and staff weren’t walking mud into the new building and it has improved the look of the public area.”
The North West Reserve Forces and Cadet Association has worked hard to deliver this facility in partnership with Warrington Borough Council, who own the land immediately outside the premises and Greater Manchester Wing RAF Air Cadets who facilitate the operations of 2137 Squadron.
The squadron is expanding and offering opportunities to anyone in the Lymm, Grappenhall, Stockton Heath and Latchford areas.
