Cooker fire fills house with smoke

A CASUALTY was taken to hospital at Warrington after unattended cooking filled a house with smoke.
The incident was in Chiltern Place, Orford and fire engines from Warrington and Birchwood were called to the scene.
Crews isolated the cooker and made the scene safe. The casualty was suffering from smoke inhalation.
In another incident, firefighters went to a house in Fearnhead Lane, Poulton-with-Fearnhead to deal with a chimney fire. An aerial platform was used as crews tackled the incident from the roof as well as from the hearth. A hose reel jet was used and a thermal imaging camera was used to check there were no areas of heat in the loft space.
A microwaved oven was involved in a blaze at Vine Crescent, Great Sankey. The fire was out when firefighters reached the scene but they used a ventilation unit to clear smoke from the property.
