A piece of cake for the MP

IT was a piece of cake for MP Helen Jones when she visited Warrington Collegiate – a cake baked by students.
The Warrington North MP visited the college to present the “Apprentice of the Month” award to Sarah Bond – an apprentice in business and administration.
She also went on a tour of the college, speaking to members of staff in the “Work Shop” – an area providing careers advice and support – and dropping in on the hospitality and catering facility to see students preparing dishes for the lunchtime service.
Students had baked a special cake for the occasion and front of house trainees joined her and members of staff for a photo and a slice of a cake.
The MP said: “It was wonderful to see first-hand the commitment and passion of the young people at Warrington Collegiate. The advice and support offered to students really helps them choose the right path.
“I particularly enjoyed meeting students in hospitality and catering to learn more about their day-to-day activities and future career opportunities.
“Many thanks to Josh for his delicious chocolate pudding and to the students who so kindly baked the cake.”
