Smith hopes season not over for Mitch Dodds

WARRINGTON Wolves’ boss Tony Smith hopes the season is not over for Aussie forward Mitch Dodds who suffered a double leg fracture during the victory at Catalans Dragons on Saturday.

The 26-year-old who joined the Wolves on a one year deal from Brisbane Broncos this season, has undergone a successful operation on a broken tibia and fibula and is expected to fly back to Warrington tomorrow, Wednesday.

Smith says the operation has been a complete success and the surgeons were pleased with the way the bones had knitted back together.

Without any further complications it is expected to be a six month recover.

Smith hopes Warrington can be involved in the final month of the season saying it would be good to see him back, as he had done well in his brief start to the season.

Dodds had just come on as an interchange when he suffered the freak injury.
