Warrington’s best kept secret embarks on recruitment drive

OFTEN described as “Warrington’s best kept secret” a club created by the town’s leading industrialists in 1876 is on a membership recruitment drive.

With active membership of the Warrington Club now less than 70 the club is eager to recruit new blood to ensure the future survival of Warrington’s oldest networking group.

Membership is available for men and women with individual and corporate packages.

Leading Warrington industrialists from the Parr, Greenall, Fairclough, Monk, Bennett and Rylands families launched the club.

Facilities which include a fine dining room, bar and snooker room, are open daily Monday to Friday for business lunches.

Members can also make use of the facilities by appointment and there is a calendar of special events throughout the year including musical evenings, guest speakers and snooker events.

Current Chairman, well known Warrington accountant Percy Beckley, said: “The Warrington Club has a fantastic history and tradition. Unfortunately it has been one of Warrington’s best kept secrets and we are finding people right on our doorstep who didn’t even know of our existence.

“It is a fantastic facility where members can either pop in for lunch during the week, or even bring clients as guests.

“Although the club was founded as a gentleman’s club we welcome women members.”

A special open evening has been organised for Friday, January 29 from 6pm onwards, as part of the recruitment drive and the club has even launched a facebook group.

Anyone who would like to attend the open evening or find out more about joining the club should contact [email protected] or call Gary on 07973 112262
