Thousands get in the festive mood – despite wind and rain

THE people of Frodsham defied rain and wind to turn out in their thousands for the town’s annual Christmas Festival.Pic by J King 28th Nov 15 Father Christmas in Frodsham Christmas Festival Parade.

Festive markets started the show around midday and there were fairground rides, Santa’s grotto, music, street entertainment, face painting, etc.
A spectacular firework display preceded the grand parade through the town and the official switching-on of Frodsham’s famous Christmas lights.
Pupils from local schools provided festive music, including Helsby High, Kingsley Primary, Manor House Primary, St Luke’s RC Primary, Weaver Vale Primary and Aston Primary.
Frodsham Sings community choir was also involved.
The Mayor, Cllr Fran Sutton, and Frodsham’s junior mayors took part in the parade and MC for the day was Cllr Mallie Poulton.Afterwards, main organiser Cllr Mike Pusey thanked everyone who had taken part in the event – including members of the public who braved the elements to attend
